Volunteer

Hi there – I need volunteers who are excited about winning this next election and support Green Party values.  There are many roles with differing time commitments.  If you can donate some of your valuable time, let me know by email, Facebook, or phone and we’ll find a role that suits your skills.  This is a great way to help out a campaign with extremely limited funding and a great way to boost your resume!

Roles:

Canvassers - a great way to get some exercise while introducing Calgarians to the Green Party and asking them to vote for me in the next election.

Postcard Delivery Person - another great way to get exercise by delivering postcards to our high density neighbourhoods.

Election Day Callers – spending the day on the phone calling GPC supporters and asking them to vote.

Senior Graphic Designers – I need more people to help create snazzy banners for this website and for Facebook, as well as paper products (brochures, postcards).

Green Businesses in Calgary West Liaison – I would love to have a dedicated person make connections with the businesses in Calgary West who share our vision.  These businesses would be approached to donate funds and put up posters and share brochures for the Green Party.

Proofreaders - I write quite a bit and I need a second pair of eyes.

Video Editor – Although I have the skills, I just don’t have the time.  I need someone to create 30-45 sec video snippets about my activities in the riding and upload them to the website.

Lawn-Sign Hammerers – I have lawn signs and rubber hammers but I need help hammering them into the lawns of people who’ve agreed to have signs.  I’ll also need help taking the signs away on election day.

Handicrafters – I already have one person who is crocheting up green-coloured travel mug warmers to sell to raise funds for the campaign.

Community Event Coordinator – I need some help coordinating events to meet community members and the media.

Chalk Artists – during the election period I want people writing campaign messages in bright green chalk on sidewalks in the riding.  This is ideal for people who would like to help but would prefer not to talk to people.

Social Media Promoters – promoting the message on Facebook and Twitter.

“People” People – Contact me for details.

Translators – I’d love to have part of my website translated into another language.

Fundraisers – If you’re good at asking people for money, we need you!
