Riding Rift in Calgary West? Puh-leasse.

CTV covered a story today entitled “Riding Rift in Calgary West” which you can read here.

I wrote back to CTV with this response:

“I was very surprised to read this article, not because of Rob Anders’ “conspiracy theory”, but because of the complete lack of mention of the Green Party, which has consistently rated higher in terms of votes than the NDP has in the last two elections in Calgary West.

The only “conspiracy” is how Rob Anders is still the incumbent after numerous attempts to replace him within his own riding.

I believe that deliberately leaving out the Green Party in this article shows a lack of respect for the people in Calgary West who have shown me overwhelming support so far.

I don’t see how this is “news” when it sounds like all of the Conservative candidates across the country are saying the same “Conservative Party” message about the same old “reckless coalition“.

I expect better from CTV in the future.  The Green Party had almost a million votes in 2008 and to not include us in your articles and news stories is like a slap in the face to a group of people the size of Calgary.  There are five candidates in Calgary West and to only interview less than half of them shows a serious media bias toward maintaining the status quo.
