Calgary West Forum Debrief

Today the first ‘all candidates’ forum was held at the SCA Community Centre, organized by the Just Vote association.   Besides myself, Janice Kinch from the Liberal Party and André Vachon from the Marxist-Leninist Party were in attendance.  Apparently Shawna Knowles from the NDP lives in Edmonton, and Rob Anders from the Conservative Party never returned the phone call from Just Vote.

There was an impressive turnout for the short notice of the event.  I estimate that there were between sixty-seventy people there.  Each candidate had ten minutes to introduce themselves and their platform, which was followed by a Q & A.  I was very impressed with the questions that were posed by the audience members.

I really enjoyed meeting so many of you who attended the forum.  It’s very encouraging to meet people who care about having real democracy the way I do, and who believe in the importance of civic engagement.

There may be another forum on April 29th.  Please check my Events page for updates.
